Parent Tips: Lesson 3.2

In Lesson 3.2’s practices, we ask your child to analyze the rhetorical strategies of texts and write about why an author might have made these choices given the audience. In Lesson 3.1, your child learned about the four main classical tools of rhetoric, but applying this information to other people’s texts and thinking about audience is a lot to process. This is why this lesson is a Big Brain Leap.

If your child struggles to analyze the text, have them look at the answer key and talk through why each highlight does or does not make sense to them. Or, encourage them to reach out to us through SeeSaw messages or the comment section of the practice to ask for help.
