Help! Which level is the right starting point for my kid?

We are frequently asked by parents where their children should start in our curriculum. So, we’ve put together some tools that will help you get a sense of where your child fits into the June Writers program. Parents can be especially unsure about whether their child should begin at Level 2 or Level 3. Our curriculum goes much deeper and is more advanced than the typical school curriculum, so many kids who are already writing multi-paragraph texts in school will benefit from spending time in Level 2 and children who are already writing long-form research papers will benefit from beginning at Level 3. Level 2 is where children learn to master writing a three-layer argument, which is a springboard to higher-level critical thinking capacity. Level 3 teaches kids how to dissect texts down to their most fundamental components. This skill is the foundation of participation in academic and deeper real-world conversations. We promise their long-form writing skills will only benefit from this work.
