We often hear from students who want to prepare for the writing assessment component of school or special program applications. These assessments are above and beyond the short answer and essay(s) your child must write as part of the regular application. The assessments are designed to check whether your student was indeed the author of their application and to get a better understanding of your child’s personal and/or academic potential. If your child hasn’t had much writing instruction, hates writing, or is just plain nervous, the prospect of these assessments can feel daunting, to say the least.
