Parent Tip: Your friend, the glossary

If your child is working on a writing assignment that involves highlighting specific types of clauses, and neither of you can remember what a dependent clause is, don’t panic! Good news! June Writers members can toggle over to our kid-friendly glossary of writing terms to find definitions, word roots, examples, and links to lessons that cover that topic.

We regularly update our glossary as we add new levels to our curriculum and get questions from students about particular terms. Want us to add something? Let us know!

Pro Tip: Our glossary is organized alphabetically, with some terms nested under others (e.g., “Attributive Adjective” is nested under “Adjective”). To save time, we recommend that your child use the page search function (e.g., command + F on Apple and control + F on a PC ) to find the term.
